Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actor, singer, and dancer. Her early appearances on Broadway include the productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. She was awarded an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured actor in the Play for playing Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with actors and directors both on screen and stage for her entire career. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail in Robert Siegel's exclusive Hulu show Welcome to Chippendales which premieres November 22. Ashford's current film is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. In the form of it is a Hulu Original, the film is available on Disney DTC's platform. Ashford is set to appear as Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the national crisis that swept into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment proceedings in over a century. Ashford was the main character in two seasons on CBS Comedy B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, with legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Other Broadway credits for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, in which she starred with George Wicked legally Blonde, and the role of Lauren In Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded an Tony Award nomination. Ashford is from the city of Denver native who now divides his time between Los Angeles.
